DfD is run by a team of three, each with specialist knowledge and expertise in diabetes. In addition there are two regional representatives:
The original idea for DfD came from Steve Turner, who has had diabetes for nearly 40 years. As a diabetic he has to count carbohydrates. A problem he regularly encounters in both personal and business life is estimating the carbohydrate content of restaurant meals.
Steve also recognised that the counting of calories and fat when eating out is also difficult for many people, not just those with diabetes.
